If you like Marvin Gaye, check this one out as he produced and wrote some of the tracks, notably "Baby I'm for Real."Glad to see this music is still out there. These guys should have been (and could have been) as large as the Temptations. Just didn't happen though.Great harmonies, songwriting, and production.
Been blessed to own some of their albums on vinyl.and this compilation surely brings back harmony to my collection. "The Bells" and "Baby I'm For Real" surely rates as their famous offerings but the track "God Bless Whoever Send You" easily upstages the aforementioned tracks. This compilation would have been complete if it featured the tracks "Sunrise" and "Mother Natures Very Best" from their "Down To Love Town" album.None the less one of the numerous under rated Old School Harmony groups that had to contend with the shadow cast by the Temptations.

I had been looking for music by the Originals for a long time. I was thrilled to get this CD. The price was right, it came quickly in the mail, and I LOVE it. Thank you.
To enjoy great music, just sit back and listen. The big turn for him at Motown was the release of his monster album, "What's Goin' On." Play these two together and the reveal of his influence connects. Pick any song and listen to how they softly turn it into sugar.
The Originals were just that, an original dynamic blend of the time, Motown, the ballad, basement party music, love and wonder. You hear the feelings and emotion of Mr. To know great music, find out where it came from.
More importantly, the guiding hand of an early, young hit maker, Marvin Gaye, produced what was to become a precursor of his legacy. In so many ways, this collection of sounds is remarkable. For one thing, these guys had a harmony that surpassed many of the groups of their period.
Gaye. The Originals are a must have CD for any collection that takes us down memory lane.
